About BILL WALL LEATHER

Movie stars, rock stars and outlaw bikers. Movie sets, mug shots and red carpets. Bill Wall’s artwork, in leather and jewelry, has adorned the famous and infamous since 1985.

The common thread? Bill’s appreciation for simple, elegant design, a crystal-clear sense of what’s cool and his insistence upon working with only the finest quality materials. Every Bill Wall creation is a personal statement that comes through careful choices in materials, form and function to yield a unique, one-of-a-kind piece of art to express your attitude and lifestyle.

The BWL brand was established in 1985 in Malibu, when a 20-year young Bill learned that leather apparel could be useful when crashing a motorcycle. Surfing, fishing and working on cars, surrounded by mountains and a view of the Pacific always present, after his accident Bill used an industrial sewing machine to render a few scraps of leather into an outstanding outfit to protect himself on future rides.

Review of works

Looking at the various works of BWL, among them, the silver jewelry of Xiaohaha, fish hooks and skulls are the most classic. Bill is not only the first person to make the Happy Face of Xiaohaha into silverware, but also has the Graffiti pattern engraved on the silver surface itself, which is even more impressive. It's easy to see that this familiar smile pattern was registered as a patent by Bill in the 1970s, which shows his aloof status. The Fish Hook, which has the strongest marine flavor, is not only exquisite in silver, but the designer is more keen on inlaying gemstones in it. Usually, gemstones of different moon phases are embedded in it, which is very elegant! As for the skull rings, also known as Demon Rings, the oversized skulls are very shocking and full of heavy-duty flavor that is loved by rock fans and motorcycle enthusiasts. They are often the most expensive item of the brand!

Unique technology: Gold Overlay

Seeing this, everyone should be curious about what is unique about BWL's silverware. In fact, Bill Wall's greatest achievement is the original Gold Overlay technology. During the production process, he uniquely placed the silver jewelry into liquid nitrogen. The silverware is cooled to an extremely low temperature, and then liquid 18k gold is dripped onto the silverware. This almost water-drop perfusion method is different from traditional gilding technology. It is no longer just a thin gold surface covered with silver ornaments. Instead, the gold can be embedded in the jewelry in the most comprehensive way. In addition to having a more textured and three-dimensional sense, each piece of jewelry has a different gold accumulation position, which is unique to the humanized craftsmanship spirit.
